Generation Mindful with Suzanne Tucker.j

Virtual Storytime

with Suzanne Tucker

December

The HHEF hosted Suzanne Tucker, founder of Generation Mindful, for a delightful virtual storytime session with our kindergartners and first graders! Generation Mindful creates educational tools and toys that nurture emotional intelligence through play and positive discipline. Ms. Tucker's presentation encouraged the children to use those "big" feelings we all experience as a chance to share and communicate. This year, the HHEF has also provided Generation Mindful toolkits, full of fun activities and helpful guidance, for all kindergarten and first grade classrooms in our District.

Rob Greenfield SM Post After Presentatio

Environment Project at HS

Rob Greenfield

January

For the second part of our HHHS Environmental Awareness Project, environmentalist Rob Greenfield shared his many advocacy projects, including this past experience with his "Food Waste Fiasco". The project called attention to the perfectly good food that is often wasted, while 1 in 7 Americans are considered food insecure. Rob encouraged the students to "be the change you wish to see in the world" and to make one small positive change for the environment each day. Every small step makes a difference.
